Great little machine!! July 15, 2010 Daisy (PA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I purchased this item for one main reason...I needed an easy way to clean my Pandora Bracelet. And after having a jewlers clean the bracelet using a sonic machine, I knew I had to purchase one. My Pandora Bracelet is made up of a mixture of gold, silver, and gemstones - so cleaning it in a silver cleaner or a gold cleaner was not an option. With the Sonic cleaner, I just add a small amount of Dawn dish soap and it comes out looking brand new!!!! And actually the cleaning instructions for the Pandora's are to use hot soapy water - so with this machine, you don't have to do any scrubbing. The only thing I would have liked is a longer cleaning time. Other machines have that, but I wasn't sure how important that would be. Now I see it would have been a little more convenient to not have to keep pushing the start button. Bottom line - great value, and works well; but if you would like a little longer cleaning time, opt for one that you can set the time.
Just Like New! July 13, 2010 Linda I Messersmith Very pleased with the results. My diamond ring looks new and other pieces of jewelry are sparkling. I added a jewelry cleaner to the water and it does the trick of cutting sunscreen and soap residue. Directions could be more specific as to what can and cannot be cleaned. Would have appreciated an illustration on how to place the watch in the tank.
Best Little Cleaner Ever! July 8, 2010 Diana Yoshino (CA USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I was in the market for a jewelry cleaner as I wear a lot of sterling silver and most of the liquid cleaners eat away at the silver and make it dull after a few cleanings. I wanted something that would really clean and wouldn't harm my jewelry. The Sonic Wave CD-2800 caught my eye because it doesn't use any chemicals at all. It also got good reviews from customers.
The unit is compact, but large enough to handle anything 5 3/4" long, 3 3/4" side, 1 3/4" deep. I clean all my jewelry in it, regardless of what it is made of; you can do that because there are no chemicals used. And, to my great delight, I found it is the best eyeglass cleaner ever. You don't even have to use warm water. If something is especially dirty or grimy you can add one drop of dishwater soap; you can even run items through the cleaning cycle twice.
Not only is this the best cleaner I've ever used, it's very inexpensive, sturdy, and very safe to operate. Plus, buying this product through Amazon means that there won't be any problems with the transaction. Do yourself a favor and start cleaning your jewelry to keep it looking great. I highly recommend this product.
Sonic Wave Ultrasonic Cleaner July 7, 2010 Don As the name implies, it cleans and does it well. Anything that is waterproof and will fit in the small tank can be cleaned in this thing. I just wish it was larger because my safety glasses with side-shields will not quite fit. It does an outstanding job on the rest of my glasses, however. Very good value for the money!Sonic Wave CD-2800 Ultrasonic Jewelry & Eyeglass Cleaner (White/Gray)(package may vary)
This little guy is terrific! July 6, 2010 Stacia R. Roesler (Alexandria, VA USA) Pros:
1) compact (doesn't take up a lot of counter space) and relatively attractive
2) quiet
3) simple to use
4) works GREAT
5) auto-off feature
6) affordable
7) fast!
8) versatile - large enough to use for more than just jewelry
Con:
1) 3-minute auto-off feature means that for extra-dirty stuff you have to go through a couple of cycles.
2) A second, small basket with handle would have been nice---but for the money, this is a DEAL.
I use this primarily for diamond rings and eyeglasses. I typically use hot water and two drops of regular old liquid hand soap or dish soap (don't waste your money on expensive cleaers!). I do not use a toothbrush on my jewelry (this little machne makes it unnecessary) but I suppose you could if you had an extra-dirty ring. If it doesn't clean your jewelry like sparkling new in the first 3 mins, just run it through a couple more cycles! Or else add some dishsoap---I don't think this would work well without it. (The machine I had before this ran until you turned it off, but was a lot noisier and too small for larger articles. It too required a cleansing agent, in order to work really well.) Just dump your stuff in while you're showering or doing your makeup or whatever, add HOT water and 2 drops of any detergent (I use liquid hand soap!), and 3 minutes later it's shiny like new!
